Riff Trax and Quality Me Time

Being the big Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan that I am, I decided to buy the tickets to the broadcasted live performance they are doing. So Yesterday I bought tickets set for 8:00 pm around 6:00. I obviously had some time before the performance so I did some wandering around in the shops and what not on Market St. in crowded San Francisco. I decided to Treat myself to a video game. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare , not remembering the fuck all attitude video games take to sequels because I wanted the more recent Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. So I went to the Movie in a timely fashion only to have it conk out 30 minutes into it. No one from the theater came in to tell us what went wrong, though we knew they knew there was a problem because the projectionist covered the lens blocking the digital cable prompt.

So we sat there (pictured above) for about 15 minutes. before someone came in to tell us it was a snow day and we could all go home. I got my rainy day ticket, no convenience charge, and threw away the bulbils receipt to the video game because hay what can go wrong with a video game? Its video! I go home put in the video disk but no video install happened. I call up the store to ask them what to do and they tell me I have seven days to return or exchange the item.. as long as I had the reseat that I left on the top floor of a mall movie theater trash can.

So, I ran from Pine and Leavenworth all the way to Powel and Market, up 4 flights and across the mall, and start digging amounts the torn up angry tickets of the Riff Trax audience. Go to the store (that luckily close at 10 because I'm leaving the country tomorrow) Exchanged it for the game I wanted in the first place.

What did you do yesterday?

Twilight, the movie based off the ELO song, not the Zone

I really didn't set this blog up for movie reviews, more as a place to show off my sketch book. But I just saw Twilight, and I honestly tried to give it a chance because its just as valid as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek in terms of "Why is this stupid thing so popular." But man alive! It's like a thirteen year old girls understanding of what having a boyfriend is: Couple of minutes of light petting followed by six hours of just staring longingly at each other. Then a quick lets meet the folks. Followed by ONE discussion about there interest: they like Clair De Lu, which is like saying: "You like the Rolling Stones?! I love the Rolling stones!!! were such beautiful and unique people with so much in common." Then BAM! Now you have a sparkly, bland, eraser head to look at for the rest or your life, and your only three weeks in.

Anyway heres some naked lemming girls pushing each other off a cliff, and a dog.

The Chimp and the Whale

I haven't posted in a while so here we go.. I hope this doesn't become a trend. Found out my Great Aunt Margaret died today, thats sad for me. I remember her drawing me when I was a kid and being amazed of what she came up with, that moment probable had a huge impact on my life. But I can't pin point which part.

Frank Harmon: Feminist

This is the ruff sketch of a painting I'm doing for the new project. I'v quasi abandoned the comic book thing because I don't think I'll get it done on time. I have instead decided to work on a bunch of paintings that iv been tossing around in my sketch book and creat a book out of that, I will include the short comics I have made in that book that I have dubbed: "Extravaganza Monster A-Go-Go!". It will contain various paintings I have done in the past, hopefully a bunch of new paintings and a couple of comics. In living color too.

How I Spent My Thanksgiving.

I flew over to Houston to visit my mom and dad for Thanksgiving. There I was able to see my two welsh corgis (thats right, like what the Queen of England has), and draw them. For what ever reason they both like licking one of the metal coffee table legs. Always the same leg, always the same place. Its weird, they'll lay there for hours licking away, I have no clue why.

More stuff I do on the Internet.

Sorry I hadn't posted In a while, but heres a gorilla to ease your pain and repair the bridge between me posting in regular succession and the other kind. Amugst posting gorrillas on the internet, another thing I do is make a total jackass of my self, on the internet.

This is a video of me making a jackass of myself for some ballet tickets and maybe a trip to ASssPIN, where the beer flows like wine. The San Francisco Ballet is having a contest where in you make a 1:05 video depicting a moment from the Nutcracker. Luckily for them I happen to really like ballet and would be willing to make a fool out of myself for tickets. Wish me luck.

This is another video of myself acting like a jackass, with the help of my friend Jake for Star Wars Uncut which is a bunch of Star Wars fans putting fifteen second clips of A New Hope to recreate the movie. Got me to create two videos of it.

This one seems to be the more popular of the two. Also with the help of Jake and my friend Dennie. So popular in fact that Iv been approached a couple of times to be interviewed by reporters doing articles on Star Wars Uncut. Also by a film maker doing a documentary on fans relationship with George Lucas called The People vs George Lucas.

People siting not eating.

Heres some folks siting in restaurants and not eating, or done eating or whatever. Drawing people in public really is a sport. It has a bizarre hunting mentality to it. Hopefully that little sentence didn't make me sound to psychotic.

Marshmallow Animals

Doodling throughout the day on some marshmallow animal things. I'm hoping to finish the penciling of my comic book tonight, and depending on my coloring options I might be able to get that done by the weekend. Also going to a fairy themed wedding on saturday with my friend Jake. There's free food and pixy-dust to be had! the wedding invite advised that I send an email rsvp to save on paper and the trees, yet the invite itself was three pages long.. huh?

Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day, I haven't done any military based drawings recently, but heres a crazy old lady, two naked girls, and a cute pizza girl I drew (oddly enough) at a pizza place that I went to on my lunch break.

Wondercon

My friend Hoa got me wrangled into doing wonder-con with him. So i need to finish up some half-baked comics of mine if I'm going to sell anything, other than my sketch book that is. Anyway, I like the scientist on this page, reminds me of Simpson's "boring humor."

Sketches and Ojingogo

So lets pad this thing out a little bit with the real purpose of this blog: uploading some of of my current sketch book pages and talking about art. So here's a few that I promised in the last post: some scantily clad young girls! but if your the type of person who doesn't like that then here you go:

I drew this a day ago when I was thinking about a book I bought last year called "Ojingogo" by Matthew Forsythe. pick this book up where you can if you like stuff and things in general. The man is an amazing illustrator and story teller. I cant praise this book enough, please look at it.

First post same as the first.

Well it fianly happened, this is a blog. No turning back now, I'v made my pact, and the only thing keeping me sane is that I'm quite sure no one will read this stuff. Unless you google Image searched for something like "french maid truck" or "tomahawk monkey." Though I always wanted to keep a proper diary. I tried once when I went to summer camp. I just ended up drawing a bunch of naked ladies in it though. I was so afraid that the other boys would find it and make fun of my budding man hood and my want to know what naked girls looked like. So I ended up flushing most of my "diary" down the cabin's toilet until it eventually backed up. That brings us to why I'm doing a blog: to show off the naked girls I'm drawing now. Through I'll probably end up posting the art work of my friends and people I admire, such as the Master Bill Waterson. Hopefully I won't have to flush his stuff down the toilet like the last one.
